One of the nice things about living in Farmington and Farmington Hills is the wealth of opportunities to take in cultural events, like the ones on our list of things you should know today: 

1. The weather

The clouds will hang around today and through the evening, but the sun should come out tomorrow. The National Weather Service predicts a high of 35 and a low of 27. 

2. Readings tonight at Mentobe

Wednesday Night Sessions, a monthly reading series at in downtown Farmington, tonight features authors Amy Elliott Bragg, Jeff Kass and Vievee Francis. Presented by a group of Michigan publishers, this free event starts at 7 p.m.

A social group for people who enjoy knitting and crocheting meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the lobby of the . If you can't make it tonight, the group meets on the second and forth Wednesday of the month.

5. Look ahead: Children's Day at the Market
