5 Things You Should Know Today - July 18, 2012

Enjoy a family-friend movie at the library or watch Miss Farmington 2012 crowned tonight in Farmington.

We're just one day away from the start of the 2012 Downtown Farmington Founders Festival, with pre-glow events at and tomorrow night. 

Here's what else you should know today:

1. The weather

There's a 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms today, and the National Weather Service predicts the rain will clear out tonight. Expect sun and a high around 87 and low tonight around 66, under cloudy skies.

Enjoy a showing of Dolphin Tale at the  today at 6:30 p.m. Bring a blanket, a picnic dinner and meet friends new and old. There's no charge, and reservations are not required.

Join members of three area garden clubs Friday at noon, as they dedicate a marker in Farmington's that pays tribute to the men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Farmington Hills Girl Scout Troop 4419 will participate.
