5 Things You Should Know Today - May 3, 2012

If you've enjoyed seeing art all around our community, there's an opportunity this afternoon to learn more about the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) paintings. Here's what else you should know today:

1. The weather

Today's high should bounce back up into the 80s, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The National Weather Service predicts a low tonight around 64. Winds could be gusty today, as high as 26 miles per hour.

Interested in learning more about the Detroit Institute of Arts Inside|Out exhibit in Farmington Hills? Stop by the at 1 p.m. today, for a primer on these magnificent works of art. There's no charge, and registration is not required.

Join Farmington area churches and community leaders at the  today for a 7 p.m. celebration of the National Day of Prayer. Prayers will focus on National, State, City, Security, Business/Economic, Public Education, and Family Concerns.

The Farmington Community Chorus, directed by Steven SeGraves and accompanied by assistant director Susan Garr, will present its annual spring concert, “My Sentiments, Exactly - A Sentimental Journey Through 100 Years of Music,” on Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m., at .
