5 Things You Should Know Today - May 7, 2012

Farmington city council meets tonight to talk about the 2012-2013 budget.

This first full week in May begins with several opportunities to formally and informally interact with local elected officials. Here's what else you should know today:  

1. The weather

There's a good chance we'll see rain, with thunderstorms possible after 8 a.m. The National Weather Service predicts a high around 63, with a low tonight around 51 and a continuing chance of rain and thunderstorms before 2 a.m.

On Tuesday at 11:15 a.m., Oakland County Commissioner Bill Dwyer (R-14th District) will be at the discussing the latest news regarding the Sheriff’s Department, the Oakland County Crime Lab, and other topics of interest. The public is invited to attend.

5. Look ahead: Farmington School Board 

School officials meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the . They will take up a study session agenda that includes a public hearing on the district's breakfast program, a report on the district's instructional implementation plan, and reviews of 2012-2013 meeting dates, the district-wide pizza bid, awarding a $1.194 million computer replacement bid and other items.
