Watch out for costumed children, who will be on the streets tonight.

It should be a perfect day for Halloween – cloudy, cold and maybe even rainy:

1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts a 60 percent chance of rain today, with the potential for thunderstorms. The rain will clear out, hopefully before kids start going door-to-door. Look for a high today around 52, and a low tonight around 34.

is sponsoring a Halloween blood drive today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. No vampires, just friendly folks from the American Red Cross, which has a continuing and critical need for blood and blood products.

You can count on officers in both and to keep a special eye on kids tonight – as we all should. In Farmington, public safety officers will also be giving out special treats. Look for them on patrol in neighborhoods.

4. Pumpkin Hunting

If you've driven past Orchard United Methodist Church on Farmington Rd., you've seen their beautiful pumpkin patch. This annual sale is a fundraiser for the church's summer youth mission trip. They're open today and tomorrow, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Cost is $7 each or 2 for $12.
