Author Sandra Brown Will Speak in Farmington Hills Next Month

Her newest bestseller, "Lethal," has been chosen as the southeast Michigan "Everyone's Reading" book for 2012.

Bestselling suspense author Sandra Brown will speak in Farmington Hills next month as part of a regional book club program intended to bring southeast Michigan together through reading.

Brown's Lethal has been chosen as the 2012 Everyone's Reading book. Everyone's Reading is sponsored by libraries in Oakland and Wayne counties; this is the 11th year of the program, which is intended to promote dialogue through the shared experience of reading and discussing the same book. Past books have included The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly and Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow.

The Farmington Community Library is one of 13 libraries participating in the program.

Brown will speak at in Farmington Hills at 7 p.m. March 22, and at the  at 2 p.m. the same day. Tickets for both events are free.

Set in Louisiana, Lethal tells the story of Honor Gillette, who is visited by Lee Coburn, a suspected murderer seeking a valuable object that Honor's late husband left behind. All copies at both the Farmington Community Library  and – including large print and audio versions – were checked out as of this morning. The audio version has one hold, and six people are on the wait list for the standard edition of the novel. There are no holds on the large print version.

Several discussion groups will be held:

  • Monday, February 27 at 7 p.m., at the Main Library 
  • Thursday, March 22 at 10 a.m., at the Farmington Branch Library 
  • Thursday, April 5 at 1 p.m., at the in Farmington Hills
