Bowl for Jobs at Drakeshire in Farmington Feb. 3

Goodwill Industries will collect donations of clothing and money to help fight local unemployment.

Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit and CIMX-FM 89X radio invite metro Detroiters to “Bowl for Jobs”, 7 p.m.-10 p.m. on Feb. 3 at in Farmington.

In addition to bowling, attendees can donate clothing items or monetary to further support the fight against local unemployment. The 89X street team will hand out giveaways from 8 p.m.-10 p.m., and participants will have a chance to “out bowl” one of 89X’s radio personalities. 

All activities support Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit programs that help southeast Michigan residents overcome employment challenges and become trained, trusted and ready to work.

“This event gives a chance to have fun with the family while helping our friends and neighbors get back to work,” said Mark Lane, director of public relations and special events for Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.  

For $20, participants will receive three games of bowling, including shoe rental and, and have access to pizza and soft drinks. Each ticket purchased is entered into a raffle for a chance to win a 7-night trip to Hawaii. A silent auction will also take place during bowling activities.

All donations are tax deductible and support Goodwill’s education, training and placement programs.
