Celebrate Kwanzaa at the Main Library in Farmington Hills

The African American Family Network hosts this annual event.

The African American Family Network of Farmington and Farmington Hills will host its annual Kwanzaa celebration Sunday, Dec. 4, 2 p.m., at the auditorium.

Observed the week of Dec. 26 through Jan. 1 this year, Kwanzaa is a week-long holiday celebrating the virtues of Faith, Purpose, Creative Work and Responsibility, Unity, Self-Determination, Cooperative Economics and Creativity. While largely a celebration of African American culture, organizers of the local event believe people of all cultures can benefit from sharing the Kwanzaa values.

The evening will include entertainment and food, and there is no admission charge. For information, call 248-737-3023 or write to oudr@aol.com.
