Celebration Closes Old Winery Market Season

Outside vendors and the Redwood Grill help wrap up the Farmington winter and early spring market.

Saturday's Old Winery Farmers Market, the last for this season, has all the makings of a real celebration.

Market master Jean Smith says 13 vendors will be located in the area outside the Old Winery/Powerhouse building, with more than 30 inside, offering Michigan-made products and Michigan produce. New to the market, Red Wood Grill will set up to serve barbecued pulled pork and ribs, and Good Times Kettle Corn will be making fresh popcorn outdoors.

Four "garden talks" will be held, on topics that include saving seeds, fertilizing, herb gardens and raised bed gardening. Learn more on the Old Winery Farmers Market website

The kids will enjoy a story hour, a balloon artist and face painter. Relay For Life will have a table, as will the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market Friends of the Market. The outdoor market opens next Saturday, with a Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Located at 31505 Grand River, the Old Winery Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
