City of Farmington Hills to Offer Flu Shots Oct. 4
Flu shots are recommended for everyone ages 6 months and older.
The Senior Division, in cooperation with the Oakland County Health Department, will offer seasonal flu shots for ages 6 months and older on Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the , 28600 Eleven Mile Rd.
The Center for Disease Control recommends everyone ages six months and older get a flu shot every year. It is especially important for people who are at a higher risk of getting influenza, including health care personnel and those who work with children younger than six months.
Flu symptoms include fever/chills, sore throat, muscle aches and fatigue, cough, headache and a runny or stuffy nose.

Pre-registration is suggested on-line at oakgov.com/health. For those without Medicare/Medicaid, there is a cash fee of $11 at the clinic. If you prepay on-line, print your registration and verification of payment and bring them with you to the flu shot clinic.
Assistance with pre-registration is available through the Senior Division in Conway Hall each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. until Sept. 28. Make sure to bring your photo ID and your Medicare/Medicaid card when you pre-register and also when you come for the flu shot.
Farmington/Farmington Hills residents 55 years and older or with disabilities may call 248-473-1864 to reserve a ride to the Costick Center by Sept. 27.

Participants must bring a picture ID with a current address and their Medicare/Medicaid identification card. MedicareAdvantage subscribers should call their provider to verify if the flu shot is a covered benefit.
