Schools in Farmington and Farmington Hills observe a spring break April 4-8, and the in downtown Farmington will have an expanded schedule, showing early movies all week.
The King's Speech and True Grit, both rated PG-13, will play Monday-Thursday. The King's Speech won four Academy Awards and True Grit was nominated for 10. Friday, April 8, starts a new theater week, with movies yet to be determined, according to theater manager Scott Freeman.
Previously, The King's Speech was limited to audiences over age 17. Starting April 1, the Academy Award-winning movie will have a new Motion Picture Association of America rating.

In a press release issued this week, Freeman said the PG-13 rating provides an opportunity for younger audiences to see the film about England's Prince Albert and his struggle to overcome a stammering problem, with the help of therapist Lionel Logue, as he ascends to the throne as King George VI.
Although used in a therapeutic manner, Prince Albert's speech therapist encourages the use of a flowery word. Use of that word has been toned down for the updated rating, just in time for showings during spring break, Freeman said.
