Community Kwanzaa Celebration Slated at Farmington Hills Library

The Dec. 1 event features entertainment and food, and admission is free.

The African American Family Network of Farmington and Farmington Hills will host its annual Kwanzaa celebration Saturday, Dec. 1, 3 p.m.-5 p.m., at the Farmington Community Library Main Library auditorium.

Observed the week of Dec. 26 through Jan. 1, Kwanzaa celebrates the virtues of Faith, Purpose, Creative Work and Responsibility, Unity, Self-Determination, Cooperative Economics and Creativity. While largely a celebration of African American culture, organizers of the local event believe people of all cultures can benefit from sharing the Kwanzaa values.

The evening will include entertainment and food, and there is no admission charge. For more information, contact Douglas and Ouley Saulsberry at 248-737-3023 or oudr@aol.com
