This week's bargains are all about food, all around town.

This week’s frugal family is all about something we all need: food! I scoped out free eats and cheap eats and items with “stock up” prices to fill your pantry.

  1. Kroger and Frito Lay
    Deal:
    Free bag of Frito-Lay chips.
    When:
    Friday, April 1 from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. One bag per customer, while supplies last. There are two Kroger locations in the Farmington/Farmington Hills area:  and .  

Deal: $1.79 boneless, skinless chicken breast all week long. On Saturday April 2, 2011 present your My Way card and chicken breasts are 99¢ a pound. Today, you can buy milk by the gallon for just $1.69. Don’t miss out on the savings.

  • Deal: $5 Mondays. Menu items are $5 each, some restrictions apply. Enjoy burgers, appetizers, salad, pasta, cocktails and more. Dig in! It’s not often you can take a family of four for an appetizer, main course and drinks and spend less than $35. Beverage purchase required.

  • Deal: Look for a variety of printable coupons on their website. Dagwood’s is my favorite local deli and if the weather cooperates, I love to grab a sandwich to enjoy at .

    Market Pantry sale with great prices on staples and fresh food. Stock up on 95¢ Mueller’s pasta and market pantry sauce, $1.80 shredded or block cheese. Combine cooked pasta with sauce, top with shredded cheese and bake until hot and bubbly for a meal your family will devour!
