Downtown Farmington Harvest Moon Includes Farm Animal Fun for Kids

Farmer John's Barnyard Express brings hands-on experiences to kids in Memorial Park.

Memorial Park in downtown Farmington was alive with giggles and squeals of delight Saturday afternoon, as children flocked to the Harvest Kids Area, part of the Farmington Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Harvest Moon celebration.

Farmer John's Barnyard Express offered kids a chance to get up close and personal with farm animals, including a pig, a calf, goats, sheep and a miniature horse. Children lined up to bottle feed the animals and learned a little bit about farm life in the process. Other activities included crafts with the Farmington Community Library and Power Upper Elementary Nature Club, a bounce house, haybale maze and child-sized rides.
