Dream a Little Dream

What does your dream home look like? We found a few candidates for you in Farmington Hills.

Haven’t we all done it? Stuck in traffic, our gaze settles on a splashy billboard announcing the massive jackpot just waiting to be claimed in a Michigan lottery game. With foot firmly on the brake, we escape into a pleasant daydream about what we would do if the magic numbers hit and the prize was ours. For many of us, that daydream would include moving into a fabulous new home with all the luxuries.

There are a few homes in Farmington Hills that could easily star in your next daydream. With features and space galore, and sales prices topping out at $3.5 million, these homes are in reach of very few, but it's fun to see what's available right here. Everything from homes with movie theatres, indoor pools with waterfalls, au pair suites, spas, private parks and heated eight-car garages can be had without ever leaving town.

Regardless of the price of the home you’re considering, making a good investment is paramount. According the Perry Gatliff, real estate agent with Coldwell Bank Weir Manual in Grosse Pointe Woods, homebuyers, particularly those making a substantial investment, should always consider property taxes. “Buyers should check the newly assessed values of recently sold homes in the immediate area to obtain an estimate of the new tax burden on the property they’re interested in,” Perry told us.
