With high winds blowing through the area, nearly 3,000 DTE customers in Farmington Hills lost power late Monday night.

The lights went off at around 9:15 p.m. for 140 DTE customers in the Middlebelt and 13 Mile area, due to an auto-protection device. The devices are attached to power lines and act as a circuit breaker, according to the DTE website
