Enjoy Your Own Version of This Old House

There's no shortage of historic classic homes in Farmington, Birmingham and West Bloomfield.

What's old is new again. Some home buyers, perhaps inspired by popular television shows such as This Old House, feel that older houses have more character and appeal than their newer counterparts. If you're ready to forget the term "maintenance free" and have no weekend plans for the next several years, a classic older home may be just what you're searching for.

Home shoppers in Farmington, Farmington Hills, Birmingham and West Bloomfield won't find a shortage of houses built before 1940. Even better, there are classic houses available at widely varied price levels. For example, we found a house dating from 1917 in Farmington that is listed at $19,900. In Birmingham, we found a house originally built in 1880, moved and rebuilt in 2000, that's going for $849,900. There are bargains out there for those willing to look, but they probably won't last forever.

What does all that mean? It's likely time to make your move if you want to take advantage of a strong buyer's market!
