Farmington Community Band Offers 'Spooktacular' Concert Oct. 30

The long-time community ensemble kicks off its 46th season at Harrison High.

Damien Crutcher returns to conduct the 90-piece Farmington Community Band (FCB) Concert Band on Sunday, Oct. 30, in “Spooktacular XXVI”, a Halloween concert for ghosts, goblins and their moms and dads.

Families are invited to enjoy an afternoon of “tunes ‘n' treats” at auditorium in Farmington Hills beginning at 3 pm. The free concert includes an afternoon of exciting music, special treats and an opportunity for kids to show off their Halloween fashions in a costume parade on stage with the band.

This annual concert kicks off the FCB's 46th concert season. In 1966, Farmington educators Paul and Fern Barber proposed the idea of a local concert band that would provide an opportunity for adults to continue their music education beyond school, while entertaining audiences in the community.
