Farmington Council Takes on Horse Ordinance

After the city's planning commission recommends approval, officials will consider whether to allow local residents with enough acreage to keep horses.

During their regular meeting Monday, Farmington city council members will consider amending the city's animal ordinance to allow residents with enough property to keep horses. 

Community and Economic Development Director Kevin Christiansen said during a Nov. 12 Planning Commission meeting that the proposed ordinance would affect only four properties in the city. Lots must be at least 2 acres in size.
