Farmington High Grad Barely Misses Medal Opportunity in Rowing

Tom Peszek and his Men's Pair partner Silas Stafford finished just two-tenths of a second out of the running for Friday's finals.

At 7:12 a.m. ET Wednesday, grad and U.S. Olympic rower Tom Peszek posted this on his Twitter account:

"Tough, tough race. Great work by @snstafford; we barely missed the medal round but left it all on the course #teamusa#olympicsarehard".

According to NBCOlympics.com, Peszek, a Farmington Hills native and University of Michigan graduate, and Silas Stafford, of Santa Rosa, CA, finished just two-tenths of a second out of the running for the Men's Pair finals round, which takes place on Friday.

The two finished last in their qualifying heat Saturday. They got a second chance at the semi-final round during a Monday repechage, a trial heat that gives those who missed the first qualifying round another chance.
