Farmington Hills Poet Keynotes Oakland Community College Women's Conference

Joy Gaines-Friedler's interactive presentation guides attendees through a writing experience.

Poet Joy Gaines-Friedler of Farmington Hills will keynote the 2013 "A Call to Wholeness" conference for women, presented by the Womencenter at Oakland Community College Orchard Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills. 

The event will be held on March 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the campus’ J Building. Admission is $40 per person.

Gaines-Friedler's interactive presentation, “Empowerment, Transition, Awe and Celebration through Writing the Personal Narrative”, will guide participants on a writing journey. Learn more about her and her writing at joygainesfriedler.com.

In addition, the conference includes two workshop sessions, a continental breakfast, lunch and a prize drawing. The workshops will focus on topics such as navigating change, mindfulness, creative writing, financial strategies, assertiveness, health and more.

The conference is presented by the Womencenter, a facility that provides educational and supportive resources for area women.
