Farmington Hills Power Outages Affect 700+ Residents

Neighborhoods along 14 Mile and on Drake Road are affected; DTE expects to restore power later this morning.

The lights went out in two areas of Farmington Hills this morning, leaving more than 700 DTE customers without power.

According to the company's website, 89 homes in a neighborhood west of Drake and south of 14 Mile have been without power since around 8 a.m. today. Power went off in neighborhoods east and west of Drake, north of Grand River, at 9:20 a.m. The website indicates 640 customers are affected; the cause is listed as an autoprotection device.

Both areas should be back on line by noon, the website reports.
