Farmington Hills Resident Will Lead Local Foundation

Eunice Myles Jeffries has a 10-year career in public service.

The has announced the selection of Farmington Hills resident Eunice M. Jeffries as its new executive director.

Jeffries will take the reins from retiring director Barbara Yuhas following the Foundation's annual gala in February. Yuhas has served as director since 2003. 

The selection was "a challenging task,” said board president Robin Waldman. “We received over 100 quality applications for the position. The Executive Search Committee spent several months reviewing resumes, conducting telephone interviews and narrowing down to a select group for personal interview session."

The board's hiring decision was unanimous, Waldman said. "We are confident with the selection of Eunice Jeffries to lead us forward. She brings a wealth of talent, experience and a true concern for our families and neighbors.”

Jeffries’ career in public service spans more than a decade, with extensive community involvement, government relations and executive leadership within the public and private sectors. Most recently, she served in the Michigan Secretary of State offices as the Director of Civic and Community Affairs.

In 2010, the cities of Farmington/Farmington Hills Multicultural Multiracial Community Council awarded Jeffries with a Rainbow Recognition Award for her work in the community.

“I am thrilled to have been selected to help this prestigious and important organization located in my backyard,” Jeffries said. “With recent developments in our economy, many families have been left stranded. That is where a community foundation is proving to be a valuable resource to help maintain the quality of life for all who live, work and play in Farmington/Farmington Hills.”

She added well wishes for Yuhas in her retirement and said she would seek a "seamless transition." 

Jeffries graduated from Fisk University with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting and from Northwood University DeVos School of Business with a Master of Business Administration.
