Farmington's Governor Warner Mansion Opens April 1

The home of Michigan's only three-term government celebrates its 30th year as a museum.

The will celebrate 30 years as "the home of Farmington history" with a special open house on Sunday, April 1, from 1 p.m.-5 p.m.

Guests will enjoy new displays throughout the house, a quilt display, tours by costumed docents and period tunes played by pianist Annika Taylor on the Governor’s grand piano. This year's admission fee is $3. 

The “Warner General Store” will be open with the sale of Mansion t-shirts, tea, tote bags, books, and other items. The 1910 printing press and 1920 Union Custom loom will be on view in the carriage house, where complimentary light refreshments will be served. Visitors will also learn about the Warnerettes, a female parasol drill team that participates in the Founders Festival parade.

The opening celebration is just the first of this season's events, which will include the annual fashion show, porch parties, petting zoo/pony rides during Founders Festival, teas on the porch, October “Ghost Walk”, fall pumpkin carving and the annual Jaycees-sponsored tree lighting event.
