Farmington Streets Close Monday at 9:45 a.m. for Memorial Day Parade

The route on Grand River, from Orchard Lake to Gill Roads, will close to traffic at 9:45 a.m.

Farmington's annual Memorial Day Parade, organized by , will take off from Uptown Plaza at Grand River and Mooney St. on Monday at 10 a.m. 

The parade moves west on Grand River and stops a block west of Farmington Rd. at Liberty St. and takes about two hours. 

According to the , Grand River will be closed to traffic from Orchard Lake to Gill, and Farmington Rd. will be closed between Freedom and Shiawassee, starting at 9:45 a.m.

Detours will include Shiawassee, M-5, and Freedom Roads.

Following the parade, a ceremony in at Grand River and Oakland across from city hall will honor members of the Armed Forces. Wreaths will be laid at the park's war memorial.
