First Thing: In Farmington, Planning Commissioners Consider Horse Ordinance

After council members enacted a ban on raising chickens earlier this year, the Planning Commission takes up the issue of raising horses.

Less than four months after Farmington city council members let stand a ban on raising chickens, planning commission members will consider an ordinance allowing residents to raise horses.

At a 7 p.m. meeting today in council chambers, the commission will set a public hearing for the proposed ordinance. When officials discussed amending the city's animal ordinance in February, Patrick Thomas urged them to consider horses domesticated animals, rather than livestock.

Have you seen the spooky spider web pictured in today's "mystery photo"?

We'll be posting a story about an upcoming event later today that features the rest of the picture, but if you think you know where the web is, and why we're writing about it, tell us in the comments below.

Is it the Governor Warner Mansion? -- it has spiders and cobwebs decorating the front porch because Friday night is the Mansion Ghost Walk.

It is, Maria - I'm posting a reminder about the Ghost Walk later today. Thanks for playing!

I don't know what to "click" on to find the garage sales. They used to be "rightRead More there" when I opened the Patch email everyday. I am assuming they are now listed under something else and I guess I need instructions as to where to find it and what to click on to get to them. thanks

Grama, in addition to our Thursday map, you can click on the Events link at the top of the page, andRead More along the left side, you'll see "Garage Sales". Just click on that, and you'll see all the listings. They should be among the events in our newsletter, too. Hope that helps!
