Former Eagle Elementary School Site Back on the Market

A former Farmington Public Schools building that was sold to the Franklin-based Islamic Cultural Center is back on the market.

The building was originally sold in 2011, but the $1.1 million in proceeds were tied up until the Michigan Supreme Court in May affirmed a lower court ruling that residents who sued to stop the sale had no standing to do so. The district collected the funds three weeks after the high court decision

The Islamic Cultural Center, which intended to develop a mosque and community center on the site, told the Farmington Observer in March that there were no plans to sell the building. Last fall, developers asked the West Bloomfield Township Planning Commission to table their proposal
