Get Out: Farmers Market Opens, HazMat Drop-Off, Ice Show

A big weekend in Farmington and Farmington Hills includes some familiar spring events.

One sure sign of spring comes to downtown Farmington this weekend. The Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, with a full complement of vendors at the in downtown Farmington.

But that's just the start of what's on our calendar, starting tonight:

Where/When: William M. Costick Activities Center, 28600 W 11 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills; Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

Why go: It's Cinco de Mayo! Celebrate Mexican pride with a family fun night that includes a Mexican dinner, a magic show, festive crafts, and breaking a piñata.

Why go: The Farmington Hills Ice Arena's annual show, "Skating with the Stars", features a great line-up of talent on ice – including the very littlest skaters.

Pricing: Adults $8, seniors/children 6-12 $6, children under 5 are free

Where/When: Oakland Community College Orchard Ridge Campus, 27055 Orchard Lake Rd, Farmington Hills; Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
