Get Out: Race to Nowhere, Funeral for a Gangster

Thursday's showing of a highly acclaimed documentary benefits North Farmington High School.

Whether you want to attend a Funeral for a Gangster (in costume), visit the farmers market or enjoy a college-level lacrosse game, you'll find plenty to do in Farmington and Farmington Hills this weekend:

1. 'Race to Nowhere'

2. First Friday Ballroom Dancing

Where/When: , 28600 W. 11 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills; Friday, 3-6 p.m.

Why Go: This monthly event provides the opportunity for singles or couples age 50 and over to mix, mingle and make new friends. In addition to dancing (whatever your level of experience), you'll enjoy a buffet dinner and great music.

3. Winter Farmers Market

Where/When: , 23020 Power Rd., Farmington; Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why Go: We were going to tell you to go because it's the last market of the season, but market master Jean Smith announced this week that the market will be extended to two more Saturdays. So now, go just because you'll find a wide variety of vendors and can participate in a Garden Talk with professionals who can help you plan your spring plantings.

4. College-level LACROSSE

Where/When: , 32000 Shiawassee Rd., Farmington; Saturday, 6 p.m.

Why Go: Lacrosse fans, don't miss this chance to see two stellar college teams— No. 8-ranked Michigan State University vs. No. 3-ranked Colorado State University—playing on a local field. Watch for former FHS player Mitch Hall, who now plays for Michigan State (look for No. 34 in the green and white).

Pricing: $5 per adult, $10 per family, $3 per student; lacrosse players wearing a team jersey get in for just $1.

5. "Funeral for a Gangster" Dinner Theater

Where/When: , 23621 Farmington Rd., Farmington; Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: This interactive dinner theater experience will have you rocking with laughter as you enjoy a delicious dinner at Page's Food & Spirits. Read all about the show and the actors in our feature story.

Pricing: Admission is $40 and includes the play, dinner and dessert, but drinks are extra. No tickets will be sold at the door.
