Gia Warner, El Nibble Nook Chef Demo at the Farmington Market

Music, a cooking demo, free books and more will make the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market, in the a great place to be today.

Open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the market features Gia Warner, whose evocative voice has reached audiences through countless television shows and national ads for clients like NBC, Ford, Chiquita and Cadillac. Warner is a one-of-a-kind singer/songwriter, and you can listen to her at the market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also at 10 a.m., the Fit Farmington group takes off on a one-mile walking course through Downtown Farmington. At 11 a.m., Chef Brett Baier of El Nibble Nook in Livonia brings the "guac" to a chef's demo, which allows you to sample a recipe before trying it on your own.

This month brings your last opportunity to vote for the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market for America's Favorite Farmers Market for 2011. The contest runs through Aug. 31 when one large, medium, small, and boutique sized farmers market will win the title of “America’s Favorite Farmers Market”.
