Government Offices, Libraries Close for the Holiday
Weekend holidays mean Monday closings in Farmington and Farmington Hills.
With both the Christmas and New Year holidays falling on the weekend, city offices in and and the will be closed Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2.
City of Farmington offices will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 23 and open only to accept tax payments on Friday, Dec. 30. However, Farmington officials may have a quorum when they tour the city's on Dec. 23, so the 9 a.m. meeting has been officially posted. Council members will meet in the lobby at city hall.
The and post office branches will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2. Both have Automated Postal Centers that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Farmington Community Library and will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. You can renew items online, check out ebooks and audio books at farmlib.org.
There will be no change in garbage/recycling collection in Farmington and Farmington Hills, because Christmas and New Year's Day both fall on Sunday.
