If you're looking for wholesome family activities over the next week, we've got plenty of them on our events calendar. Here are a few of our favorites:

Why go: Kids ages 5-12 will make and take home a miniature No. 20 Home Depot race car. They'll also get a free workshop apron, certificate of achievement and commemorative pin.

Why go: Kim Washington and her LollaPalooza Puppets will perform The Gingerbread Man, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and more.

Where/when: , 31555 W. 11 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills; 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday.

Why go: Learn to listen to the frogs and toads in your neighborhood. This one-day workshop will tell you all you need to know to help in a special Friends of the Rouge survey. This can be a fun family activity that will help the environment.

Why go: The library provides a variety of toys and books where your little ones can socialize, and you have a chance to chat with other adults. This program is for children birth to age 5. No registration required.
