Harvest Moon Celebration Needs Volunteers

Join the pep rally on Sept. 8 to help out at this annual event.

Volunteers are needed for the annual Harvest Moon celebration, held Sept. 22-24 at the in downtown Farmington.

Anyone interested in volunteering for this popular fall event is invited to attend the annual volunteer pep rally held at on Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.

The second annual beer and wine tasting event will kick off the celebration on Sept. 22, followed by the official Harvest Moon Dance on Sept. 23. New this year, a family-oriented Harvest Day will be held on Sept. 24.

Advance tickets, which are good for either the beer and wine tasting or the dance, are $5 and can be purchased at , , the DDA office, , , and , as well as the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market information booth on Saturdays.

The Harvest Moon Celebration started six years ago as a one-night dance. Last year, the dance brought more than 1,000 people to the downtown on a chilly autumn evening. The beer and wine tasting added last year was so well received, the organizing committee decided to make it part of the annual tradition.
