Harvest Moon Tickets, Scarecrow Entry Forms at This Week's Market

Stop by the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market information booth to learn more about fall activities.

The Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market opens Saturday at 9 a.m., with Michigan-made products and produce, music and a cooking demo, all in the . 

Make a stop at the information booth to pick up tickets for the Harvest Moon Celebration, Sept. 22-24. The $5 advance tickets can be used for either the beer and wine tasting event Sept. 22 or the Harvest Moon dance Sept. 23. You'll also find entry forms for the annual Scarecrow Building Contest; this year's theme is “America’s Iconic and Pop Culture Past.”

Music at the Market, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., features Chris McCall, a singer and songwriter, who has picked up a Metro Times Music Award, is a Star Search and WDIV Super Singer winner. Enjoy a taste of Bravo Cucina Italia at 11 a.m., with a demo by Chef David Uglialoro.

At 10 a.m., bring your walking shoes for the Fit Farmington one mile walking course through Downtown Farmington. You'll likely meet Beverly Schroll, the program's first 50-miler.
