Hills Beautification Commission Hosts Regional Lunch

The Beautification Council of Southeastern Michigan meets at the Longacre House in Farmington Hills.

The Beautification Commission of Farmington Hills recently hosted the quarterly meeting of the Beautification Council of Southeastern Michigan (BCSEM) at the .

More than 70 people from throughout southeast Michigan attended the event. Guests were welcomed by Peggi Tabor of the Farmington Hills Beautification Commission, BCSEM President Bob Ramsey, and Farmington Hills Mayor Pro Tem Michael Bridges. Guest speaker Nate Geinzer discussed "Sustainable Sustainability" and focused on green efforts within the recently renovated .

The Individual Service Award was presented to Elizabeth and Oswald Martin of Lathrup Village in honor of their tireless efforts to create and maintain the Lathrup Village Children’s Garden. The BCSEM also gave the Martins a garden stone and a donation to further their work.

Originally built in 1869, the Longacre House provided a fitting location for the meeting, which focused on beautification efforts throughout the region. The City has been recognized for its restoration of the Longacre House and the beautification of the gardens and surroundings.
