Labor Day Farmer's Market Features Music, Chef's Demo

Enjoy the song stylings of Chris McCall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market opens today at 9 a.m. with Michigan-grown produce and a variety of vendors offering everything from gift items to fresh baked goods.

The market is held at the in downtown Farmington.

Music at the Market features Chris McCall, a singer and songwriter who has won a Metro Times Music Award, is a Star Search and WDIV Super Singer winner. She'll play from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Bring your walking shoes for the Farmington Fit one-mile walk at 10 a.m.; the course starts at the Market information booth and goes through downtown Farmington.

At 11 a.m., see what’s Cookin’ at the Market with Chef David Uglialoro of Bravo Cucina Italia.

Also at the Market, you can purchase tickets to the Harvest Moon Celebration, held Sept. 22-24. Advance tickets that can be used for either the Beer and Wine Tasting Thursday or the Friday night dance are $5 and can be purchased at the information booth.

Pick up an entry form for the 7th Annual Scarecrow Building Contest at the information booth as well. This year’s theme is “America’s Pop Culture Past.”  The contest is open to both individuals and groups. Categories are: Adults (18+); Teens (12-17 yrs) and Children (11 & under) and Businesses.
