Labor Day: What's Closed

No garbage pick-up Monday; routes will be delayed one day through the week.

As we head into a three-day weekend, ending with Labor Day on Monday, here's a list of closures and other changes in store:

  • All government offices in and will be closed Monday.
  • U.S. Post Offices in and will be closed Monday. Both branches have Automated Postal Centers, which allow you to purchase stamps and postage for packages.
  • Garbage will not be collected on Monday in Farmington or Farmington Hills. All garbage, recycling, and yard waste pickups will be delayed by one day during the entire week with Friday’s collection made on Saturday.
  • Both the and will be closed from Saturday through Monday.
  • The Road Commission for Oakland County has announced most road projects will be suspended for the holiday weekend, starting at 3 p.m. Friday and resuming after 6 a.m. Tuesday. The Michigan Dept. of Transportation is also removing road restrictions during the same time period for 82 of 147 projects state-wide.
