LaRouche Supporters Camp Out on Grand River

Two unidentified men set out a table of literature and a sign Tuesday morning, touting the message "Dump Obama".

Two men who said they were from LaRouche PAC turned heads in front of Tuesday morning, with a display that included a sign urging citizens to "Dump Obama."

The sign, posted at the west Grand River entrance to the Downtown Farmington Center, displayed an iconic and controversial image of President Barack Obama with a Hitler-esque mustache painted on his upper lip.

Lyndon LaRouche, 88, has been a perennial presidential candidate and long-time Obama critic. Materials distributed at the table, all from the LaRouche Political Action Committee, included a flier supporting H.R. 1489, which would "revive the separation between commercial banking and the securities business," and one with the headline, "A Vote for the Debt Deal is a Vote for Treason."

Both men refused to reveal their names and would not say whether they lived in the community. One of the men recommended going to LaRouchePAC.com for more information. The other said they weren't allowed to give interviews to reporters, but said they had been on the street all morning and had engaged a number of passersby in conversation.

While he was speaking, a passing motorist honked and gave the men a "thumbs up" sign.
