Miss Farmington Pageant 'Broadway Bound', Applications Available

Applications are available at Farmington area high schools, and contestants will compete this year for a new award.

From hosting a fundraiser for the Farmington-Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families backpack program to welcoming Santa, Miss Farmington 2012 Elena Pavlicas has had a busy year.

On July 17 at the Farmington Civic Theater, she'll give up her crown, and applications are now open for any teen in Farmington and Farmington Hills interested in taking her place. With the theme "Broadway Bound", this year’s pageant will start at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are $12.

Applications are available at all high schools in Farmington and Farmington Hills and at the Barbara Hatch School of Dance. Deadline to enter is April 7.

WDIV-TV meteorologist and Farmington Hills resident Paul Gross returns as emcee, and a distinguished panel of judges will participate in this year’s competition. Page’s Food and Spirits in Farmington will host an after-glow reception. 

In addition to the Delores Riley Educational Grant and Dick Tupper Goodfellow Spirit Award, the Miss Farmington pageant board of directors has added the “Golden Heart Award”, in honor of longtime resident and business owner Jerry Jakacki, who died in October of 2012.
