Moms Talk: How Do You De-Stress Your Kids?

Grades, sports, activities, the world - children may suffer from stress, too.

Last week, an event at featured a showing of the documentary Race to Nowhere. The film shines a spotlight on the stresses experienced by students of all ages, but particularly pre-teens and teens.

The movie, written and directed by a California mom whose own 12-year-old daughter was treated for stressl-related illnesses, is dedicated to the memory of a young teen who committed suicide after receiving a failing grade. Students interviewed talk about the pressures of getting good grades, taking advanced placement classes and participating in activities, usually at the expense of a good night's sleep.

Has your child shown signs of stress over testing, grades, homework or just the way of the world today? What strategies have you used to help your child through stressful experiences?
