More Than 70 Lanigan Students Sick, District Sanitizes School

The school is one of two in metro Detroit taking precautions after wide-spread illnesses.

Lanigan Elementary School has been sanitized as a precaution, after more than 70 students were absent from school due to illness on Friday, CBS Detroit reported Saturday. 

According to the report, Supt. Sue Zurvalec said the district reported the absences to the health department, but the illness has not been identified. Annapolis High in Dearborn Heights cancelled classes Friday after nearly 200 students and staff became ill.
