New Wheeled Recycling Bins Roll Out in July, Special Size Orders Due June 15

Farmington Hills residents will receive a 64-gallon bin, but may pre-order smaller or larger sizes.

The City of Farmington Hills will be rolling out new, 64-gallon wheeled recycling carts to single-family homes this summer, but residents may pre-order smaller or larger bins.

Delivered by mid-July, the new carts will be easier and more convenient to take to the curbside and will allow residents to recycle more items.

Hills residents can pre-order a smaller 35-gallon size or a larger 96-gallon size, free of charge, by calling the Division of Public Works at 248-871-2850 by June 15. Residents who opt for the 64-gallon cart, and later find another size would work better, have until Oct. 1 to request an alternate size at no cost.

Current recycling bins can be reused for storage, placed in the new carts for recycling or taken to the Resource Recovery and Recycling Authority of Southwest Oakland County (RRRASOC) Recycling Drop-Off Center at 20000 W. Eight Mile.

Farmington residents will also receive new bins, but do not have the pre-order option. They will be able to order a smaller or larger size after trying out the 64-gallon size.
