No Senior Left Inside, Memorial Day Celebration Among Events for Seniors

The City of Farmington Hills offers dozens of programs and events for adults 50 and better in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Adults ages 50 and older will have opportunities to honor veterans, enjoy the great outdoors, take in a movie and more as part of the City of Farmington Hills Center for Active Adults May activities. 

Events include: 

Friday’s Film. May 17, 12 p.m.-3 p.m.
After a delicious lunch, Les Miserables will be shown with popcorn, candy, and a drink at the Costick Center. $5 advance tickets, $7 at the door.

Memorial Day Tribute. May 22, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Honor veterans who have served our country and also Senior Division participants who have passed within the last year with a VFW/American Legion Honor Guard flag ceremony, rifle salute and recitation, followed by refreshments. Held at the Costick Center. 

No Senior Left Inside. May 29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Heritage Park  
Celebrate National Senior Health and Fitness Day in Heritage Park and the Spicer House. The morning will begin with a mini health fair, a morning yoga stretch, games, and a presentation on wildflowers of Heritage Park, followed by lunch and musical entertainment. The afternoon will feature a sample Tai Chi class, a tour of the Nature Center, and short and long hikes. Sponsored by Botsford Hospital. Participants must pre-register by May 24 at the Costick Center or on line. Fee is $5.
