Outdoor Siren Test April 10 in Farmington and Farmington Hills, Spread the Word

The test, part of Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan, gives schools and businesses a chance to test their safety plans.

Outdoor sirens in Farmington and Farmington Hills will be activated April 10, 1 p.m., as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan, April 7-13, 2013

The test is designed to raise the level of severe weather safety awareness and to offer schools and businesses an opportunity to review and test their internal disaster plans. Residents are asked to help spread the word about the date and time of the test in order to reduce calls to 9-1-1 or to local Police and Fire Departments.

Oakland County’s Homeland Security Division will be engaged in various public education efforts during the week, in an effort to help minimize the loss of life and destruction of property that can result from severe weather.
