Overnight Power Outage Affects DTE Customers in Farmington Hills

More than 2,000 homes and businesses in the north half of the city are in the dark this morning.

The lights went out between 2:45 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. for DTE customers in Farmington Hills neighborhoods between Inkster and Farmington Roads, north of 12 Mile. 

According to DTE's website, the area outage affects a stretch along either side of Northwestern Hwy., from Inkster to 14 Mile, and on either side of Orchard Lake from north of 12 Mile to 14 Mile. It hit more than 2,000 customers in areas that stretch into West Bloomfield and Franklin.

DTE expects to have customers west of Orchard Lake back online by 7:30 a.m.; those along Northwestern, by 10 a.m.; and the rest, by 11 a.m.
