VIDEO - Patch Picks: Best Places to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

If you're not already at one of these spots, you're probably not Irish.

Each week, we feature a selection of area businesses, events and other offerings and invite you to share your own picks on the topic. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, this week's Patch Picks lists the best places to spend the holiday.

1. —This local bar gets the nod because it opens the earliest, as far as we can tell. The party starts at 8 a.m. with 25-cent beers and corned beef hash, live music through the evening, drink and Irish food specials.

2. —Next up, this authentic Irish pub—complete with a gorgeous handcrafted bar—opens at 8:30 a.m., with CIDR-FM 93.9 The River broadcasting from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Live entertainment starts at noon with The Shawn Riley Band, followed by Free Beer (the band) from 6 p.m. to closing. Meal specials from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. include a hot corned beef sandwich.

3. —Starting at 9 a.m., this St. Patty's Day celebration includes green beer, corned beef and cabbage and maybe even a few leprachauns.

4. Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner—The will be serving a delicious corned been and cabbage dinner from 5-7 p.m. on St. Patrick's Day. No beer, but you'll be among friends, in a historic building that once served as Farmington Township Hall.

5. —It's always St. Patrick's Day in this longtime Farmington pub. You'll notice shamrocks and hints of green everywhere. So why not go on the actual holiday?
