Patch Picks: Boutiques

We've got some stylish shops in Farmington and Farmington Hills. Here are a few of our favorites:

- The sign on the door says, "This will be your new favorite store," and if you love great fashion and cosmetics, it will. Customers rave about the personalized service at this downtown Farmington boutique, and their Facebook page is especially engaging.

- Owner Larry Sallen and his associates travel around the world to bring the latest in fashion to downtown Farmington. The store's seasonal sales are legendary, and they stock sizes from small to 2x. A walk downtown really isn't complete without a stop to see what's new in Clothes Encounters window.

- Specializing in antique and estate jewelery and gifts, this family-run business offers items from around the world, including art glass and Baccarat, Stuben and Waterford crystal. Customers are warmly welcomed and may even enjoy a cup of tea in the parlour.

- Everything but the suit is what you'll find in this Farmington Hills shop. Shirts, yes, but also a wide selection of ties, shoes, hats, pocket squares - whatever a man needs to complete his ensemble. And you've got to check out their YouTube channel.

- This custom jewelry shop has been a fixture in the Farmington business community for 37 years. Virtually all of the items offered for sale are hand-crafted in the store.
