Power Out for 1,500+ Farmington Hills, West Bloomfield, Franklin Residents

The lights went out around 8 a.m. and restoration is expected around noon.

Residents in Farmington Hills, Franklin and West Bloomfield have been in the dark since around 8 a.m. today, as the result of an area power outage that affects 1,542 DTE Energy customers.

The DTE Energy website shows the outage stretches from just south of Walnut Lake Rd. in West Bloomfield to Olde Franklin Dr. in Farmington Hills, and from just west of Inkster to an area between Orchard Lake and Middlebelt Roads.

DTE Energy spokesperson Len Singer said this morning that crews are working to isolate the cause of the outage. Power is expected to be restored around noon, but could be back on sooner they're able to pinpoint the problem.
