Queen of Hearts Raffle Moves to Saturday

After awarding $13,000 to a big winner, the fundraising raffle starts anew with 52 cards.

City of Farmington Hills youth and family services program director Todd Lipa walked away from John Cowley & Sons Nov. 15 more than $13,000 richer, as the winner of the Farmington Rotary Club's Queen of Hearts raffle.

On Saturday at 9 p.m., a new round starts, with subsequent drawings held on Thursday nights. The fundraiser offers participants a chance to win 60 percent of a pot that grows each week, as $1 tickets are sold. The weekly drawing winner gets a chance to pick an envelope, in the hope of finding the queen of hearts. Those who don't win receive a Cowley's gift card.

The fundraiser benefits Farmington Rotary, Xemplar Club, Botsford Hospital and Farmington High Music Patrons, organizations whose members are all selling tickets. Tickets are also available the night of the drawing.
