St. Patrick's Day Events in Southeast Michigan

Looking for a way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Metro Detroit? We've got parades, Irish dinners, and, of course, where to find green beer.

We combed our Patches for some great St. Patrick's Day events to put together this list of holiday happenings all over Southeast Michigan. Get out and have some festive fun!

Oakland County

Farmington: John Cowley and Sons
Description
: The St. Patrick's Day event begins at 10 a.m. The Shawn Riley Band will be performing from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Free Beer will play from 5 p.m. to midnight. The menu will include potato soup, hot corned beef and swiss sandwich, corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips and more.

Farmington: Dunleavy's Pub & Grub
Description
: The party starts at noon and will include bagpipers and a DJ. Corned beef and cabbage will be on the menu.

Farmington: Page's Food & Spirits
Description: 
A band will be performing and corned beef & cabbage will be served.

Royal Oak: St. Patrick's Day Parade
Description: This annual parade honors and celebrates Irish family traditions, pride and heritage. It draws about 2,000 people each year.
When: Saturday, March 16, 11:30 am
Where: Starts at Royal Oak Middle School, 709 N Washington Ave., and runs into downtown Royal Oak.
Cost: FREE

Royal Oak: Lucky Dash 5K Race
Description: For St. Patrick’s Day, how about a jig and a jog? Get your Irish on for the Lucky Dash 5K Race, which precedes the St. Patrick parade in downtown Royal Oak.
When: Saturday, March 16, 10:45 am
Where: Route will start near Woodward Ave. and I-696. For more information visit www.luckydash.com.
Cost: To register go to active.com. Registration fee is $32; 18 and under $17.

Royal Oak: Irishfest
Description: Get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit as Chef Robert Young dishes out his gourmet spin on Irish-style food for Bastone Brewery’s Irishfest. Pair delicious Irish favorites with a pint of your favorite Bastone craft brew.
When: The IrishFest menu is available 4 p.m. to close March 11-24.

Cost: Shepherd’s Pie $13.95; Braised Lamb Shanks $17.95; Corned Beef & Cabbage $15.95

Rochester: St. Patrick's Day Bash
Description:
The celebration begins at 7 a.m.; breakfast (including eggs, bacon and corned beef hash) is served until 10 a.m. There will be two stages, six local bands, four bars and complimentary limousine services.

Birmingham: St. Patrick's Day at Dick O'Dow's
Description:
Enjoy St. Patrick's Day at Birmingham's only Irish pub. The pub will open at 7 a.m. Saturday for those early-morning revelers looking for an Irish breakfast. Whenever you stop by, though, prepare for an authentic Irish experience. The Birmingham bar and restaurant was recently voted the Best Irish Bar in Detroit by Real Detroit Weekly.

Birmingham: St. Patrick's Day Pre-Party
Description:
Enjoy green cocktails and other specialty drinks all night at Birmingham's only "pre-St. Patrick's Day party" at The Corner Bar. Call for advance tickets and table reservations at 248-647-2958. 
When: 5 p.m. Saturday

Ferndale: St. Patty's Day at Rosie O'Grady's
Description: 
Live entertainment offered all day, plus a photo booth, all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet and bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas from 7-10 a.m., bagpipers, corned beef and cabbage, cash giveaways and more.

Lake Orion: St. Patrick's Day at 51 North Brewery
Description: 51 North will open at 11:00 a.m. Sunday serving up corned beef, cabbage soup topped with rye croutons and melted Swiss cheese, traditional Reuben sandwiches, Turkey Reubens and oatmeal stout brownies. 51 North also will celebrate the most Irish of beers, the stout, with a special Double Chocolate Mint Stout. The Lake Orion Light beer will get a hint of minty freshness. Velvet Krush will perform live music starting at 4 p.m.

Berkley: O'Mara's St. Patrick's Day Celebration
Description: Celtic band Blackthorn will play traditional and contemporary Irish tunes at 9 p.m. Saturday. The band will be back Sunday along with Ron Coden and Madigan's Attic, which will perform at noon and 3 p.m. St. Patrick's Day. Call 248-399-6750 to reserve a seat or for more information.

Huntington Woods: Free St. Patrick's Day Concert
Description: Tenor John O'Brien and Trio Fiori – featuring Jeffrey Beyer, flute; Theresa Stacey, violin; and Sharon Sweet, piano – will perform an afternoon of Irish favorites including "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," along with a selection of German songs and Italian opera classics. Meet the musicians after the performance.
When: 4 p.m. Sunday, March 17

Novi: Mother-Son St. Patrick's Day Party
Description: Enjoy a night of games with laser tag, bowling and the arcade. Price includes 10 tokens for the arcade games, two games of laser tag, pizza and more.

Novi: St. Patrick’s Day Dance for Individuals with Disabilities
Description: Oakland County Parks and Recreation Adaptive Recreation program hosts a St. Patrick's Day Dance for individuals with disabilities ages 18 and older. The evening will include music, snacks and dancing. 
When: Friday, March 15 from 7-9 p.m.

Cost: $7 per person

Novi: St. Patty's Party
Description: Get there early for the breakfast buffet from 7-11 a.m. Beginning at 11 a.m., enjoy specials on green beer, Irish whiskey and car bombs. 
When: Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 starting at 7 a.m.

Macomb County

St. Clair Shores: Pat O'Brien's Annual St. Patrick's Day Party
Description: For generations of eastsiders, Pat O'Brien's Tavern in St. Clair Shores has been the only destination for St. Patrick's Day. Pat O'Brien's opens early March 17 at 7 a.m. with a free Irish breakfast, followed by the 10 a.m. opening of a special tent constructed in the parking lot behind the pub where traditional Irish music will be played. There is a $10 cover fee.
When: Doors open at 7 a.m. Sunday

Genesee County

Fenton: Joe & Lewie's Penalty Box St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Description: Festivities include live music starting at 5 p.m. Saturday followed by a late-night deejay. Irish specialties all weekend will include shepherd's pie, Irish stew, corned beef, cabbage and green beer.
When: Saturday, March 16; Sunday, March 17

Livingston County

Brighton: Stout 10 Year Anniversary St. Patrick's Day Party 
Description:
On St. Patrick’s Day, Stout will be open at 7 a.m. serving breakfast, and the patio and outside bar will be open at 11 a.m. Festivities include Irish dancers, bagpipers, live music from 8:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., and a DJ and dancing from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. There will be no cover all weekend, including St. Patrick’s Day. 
When: Sunday, March 17, 7 a.m.

Brighton: The Biggest St. Patty's Day Bash
Description:
The Pound! Bar & Grill will celebrate St. Patrick's Day inside, outside in a tent and on the rooftop. Green beer ($3) and drink specials all day. Corned beef sliders, $1.99, 1/2 pound Reuben, $8.99. Your favorite DJs inside: DJ Tom Keeling 3-8 p.m., DJ Mark-E 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Live entertainment outside in the tent: The Duney Brothers 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., The Laurie Johnson Project 4-8 p.m.

Hartland: O'Malley's Irish Pub St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Description: St. Patrick's Day Weekend at O'Malleys. March 15th live music by Dragon Wagon. March 16th live music from Brent and Jeremy. St Pactick's Day March 17th, open for breakfast at 8 a.m. Live music starting at 10a.m. No reservations and no one under 21 on St. Patrick's Day.

Washtenaw County

Saline: Brecon Grille St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Description: The English-style pub will open at 10 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday serving up green beer, Killian's and Guinness drafts on special, corned beef, cabbage, lamb stew, Irish bangers and potatoes.
When: Saturday, March 16; Sunday, March 17

Wayne County

Northville: St. Patrick's Day at the Den
Description: The party includes drink specials, an extensive Irish menu and fun giveaways. 
When: Sunday, March 17 at 10 a.m. to Monday, March 18 at 2 a.m.

Cost: Cover is free.

Plymouth: ShamRock 'n' Roll Run
Description: 
This annual 10K, 5K and mile run starts and ends in downtown Plymouth's Kellogg Park. Runners are encouraged to dress up in St. Patrick's Day-themed costumes and there is a costume contest.
When: Sunday, March 17, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Where: Kellogg Park, S. Main St. and W. Ann Arbor Trl., Plymouth
Cost: $25 for Hard Rock Mile, $40 for 5K Run/Walk, 10K registration now closed.

Dearborn: St. Patrick’s Day Buffet at Fifty-One O One
Description: A full buffet Irish lunch or dinner, prepared by Henry Ford Community College culinary students.
When: Wednesday, March 13, 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 6 to 7:45 p.m.
Where: Henry Ford Community College, 5101 Evergreen Road, Dearborn
Cost: $14 per person
